READING

Our focus in reading for the next few weeks will be nonfictoin. We will use nonfiction conventions to help us read for information. Keep working on the 25 book responses. !6 are due by Feb. 3rd. We continue to read and take notes on the biography project. Students are given time every day at school to work on this but may work at home also.The paper plate puppet will be made at home and the writing may be worked on at home as well as school

MATH

We are working on finding the area and perimeter of closed shapes. We'll be investigatinf with fractions for the next 2 weeks. Please continue to work on multiplication facts at home. Many students are ready to move on to the division facts and may do so..Check out Johnnies math page on the internet. It has many interctive games on differennnt math skills.

SOCIAL STUDIES

We are learning about Mary Mcleod Bethune and her contributions to education for African Americans and girls.
