It is hard to believe we are coming up on the end of our second nine weeks of school. Assessments are coming next week...if you know your child has a weakness in a specific area of Math or Language Arts please review the standard with them. (Hint: missing addends and money)
If you have not sent in your holiday donation for the class party please do so. Our room moms are busy planning and purchasing items. THANKS!!!
Th Keheley Book Fair is in the Media Center all week. Make a point to shop...books make wonderful gifts!
I know this an exciting time of the year for all the children but please remember to keep bed times and routines as normal as possible. We still have our weekly spelling tests and orange homework folders are due each Friday.
Math- We are counting coins up to a dollar and making fair trades. This week, we will be talking about numbers that are 1 more, 1 less, 10 more and 10 less. What is 10 more than 29? What is 10 less than 34?
Be sure your child is practicing their math facts to build fluency...flashcards!!!
Language Arts- We continue to learn how to use the dictionary. We will also continue working with words with plural sounds (-s, -es).
Writing- We will be working on narrative writing this week. Students will be focusing on adding details/adjectives and learning how to extend sentences to tell us what their trip to the North Pole might be like. What will they see, hear, etc...?
Science- How are sounds created? We will be investigating sound. We will investigate how vibrations produce sound. Students will learn differentiate between various sounds in terms of (pitch) high or low and (volume) loud or soft. We will identify emergency sounds and sounds that help us stay safe.
Have a wonderful week!
Bye For Now!
