What are our learning targets for the week...what standards are we covering???
Math- We are learning to compare numbers: more than, less than, greater than, fewer than, equal to. What numbers come before and after certain numbers...number lines will help with this! We will also begin simple addition. Vocabulary will include: addend, plus, equal and sum.
Reading- We are learning about how we treat books, making prdictions, identifying the characters, discussing the setting, and identifying a “just right”book. Remember to be reading nightly to build fluency and comprehension skills.
Language Arts- We learned a "fancy " word for an opposite...antonym. Students should be able to identify and produce an antonym for given words.
Science- We are learning about different types of weather, seasons and weather instruments.
Writing- We are reviewing the correct way to write a sentence. Ask your child what CUPS stands for later this week! We will focus on how we get ideas to write about, how to begin a piece of writing and how to stay on topic.
If you have not already joined P.T.A. PLEASE do so!!! We want our class to be 100%. THANKS!!!
Please remember we will have ur first spelling test this Friday and all orange folders are due back as well. RED folders need to be signed each night and Tuesday folders need to be signed and returned back to school on Wednesday! I really appreciate those of you are already in a groove with returning things.
Healthy snacks are greatly appreciated...we have had some students bringing in cookies for snack. PLEASE DO NOT send in sugar snacks. Granola bars, fruit, crackers, etc...is what we are encouraging! Thank You!!!!
