A Great Start to a New Year

The year has been going very well.  The students are in a routine and being successful in the classroom.  We have already worked on several standards and elements and will continue to work on them throughout the year.

Reading/Language Arts

We have been writing narratives, identifying story elements, learning new vocabulary, reading poetry, and identifying figurative language.

Math

We have been studying place value with whole numbers and decimals, divisibility rules, and identifying prime and composite numbers.

As many of you know, I was married this summer.  My name has changed from Ms. Baxter to Mrs. Davis.  I am very excited and trying to get used to my new name.  The students seem to be adjusting just fine.  It has been wonderful working with all of my 4th and 5th grade students this year.  I look forward to a wonderful year working with both students and parents.  Please feel free to contact me at any time with any questions and/or concerns.
